The following are required for each of the positions listed:

Arts & Crafts - Activity
- Your role will include creating and leading art activities for children from various countries and age groups, guide campers in completing individual and group art programs, and running extra projects for teenagers. Prepare and organize art materials and workspace, maintain a safe, clean, and inclusive learning environment.
- Requirements and skills needed: inspiring creativity and self-expression among campers. Experience in art education, teaching various arts/crafts techniques, ability to plan and execute engaging art programs and projects. Stimulating campers’ interest in the field of ART. Passion for fostering creativity in young campers.
- Additional: Open to learning new techniques, patience, and paying attention to details.
Arts & Crafts - Decorator/Program Support
- Your role will include creating preparing decorations, supplies for camp-wide, unit evening programs in accordance with the instructions and requests. Organizing decorations and supplies used for camp programs and preparing an inventory, and setting up decorations needed for camp programs at the specified time and location.
- Your role will involve managing inventory, organizing storage spaces, and overseeing the distribution of supplies throughout the camp. You will be responsible for conducting inventory checks and ensuring that all equipment and materials are readily available for camp programs.
- Requirements and skills needed: Inspiring creativity and self-expression. Experience in art and decoration delivery, ability to create decorations at the highest level possible.
- Additional: Open to learning new techniques, patience, and paying attention to details.
Bicycle
- Your role will include teaching how to ride bicycles and leading cycling activities for children from various countries and age groups, Plan age-appropriate routes and activities. Adapt instruction to different skill levels, from beginners to advanced riders, supervising campers, ensuring the physical safety of participants, and being responsible for the camp’s bicycle equipment.
- Requirements and skills needed: Background in cycling, familiarity with the rules and know-how of cycling. The ability to create a positive environment.
Dance (Israeli)
- Your role will include teaching Israeli dance styles (traditional folk dances, modern Israeli choreography, and circle dances) to campers of various ages and skill levels. You will teach steps and formations, choreograph routines, and lead dance workshops that reflect Israeli culture and music.
- Requirements and skills needed: Proficiency in Israeli dance styles, experience teaching dance to children and teenagers, strong sense of rhythm and musicality, creativity in choreography, and the ability to inspire and motivate campers.
- Additional: Experience in Israeli dance education or performance, familiarity with Israeli music, and an energetic, engaging teaching style that encourages participation, confidence, and cultural connection. You might be asked to lead extra projects for teenagers.
Dance (various genres)
- Your role will include teaching different dance styles (e.g., salsa, tango, hip-hop, contemporary, folk dance or street dance) to campers of various ages and skill levels. You will choreograph routines, lead dance workshops.
- Requirements and skills needed: Proficiency in one or more alternative dance styles, experience teaching dance to children and teenagers, creativity in choreography, and the ability to inspire and motivate campers.
- Additional: Experience in dance education or performance, knowledge of music selection and editing for dance routines, and a dynamic teaching style that fosters creativity and self-expression. You might be asked to run extra projects for teenagers.
Drama
- Your role will include creating and leading drama activities for children from various countries and age groups, teaching acting fundamentals, including voice, movement, improvisation, character development, and stage presence and running extra projects for teenagers. Encourage creativity, self-expression, confidence, and teamwork in a supportive environment.
- Requirements and skills needed: Experience in drama education and methodology, experience in teaching acting fundamentals, ability to plan and execute engaging art programs, projects, and a passion for fostering creativity in young individuals.
- Additional: Open to learning new techniques, patience, and paying attention to details.
- The Head of Multimedia keeps the storytelling engine running — making sure our photos, videos, and creative content are on point and ready when programs need them. They work side-by-side with the Marketing and Communication professional of Szarvas Team. Support and guide fellow multimedia team members and collaborate with the Educational Team and Unit Heads to bring programs to life through visuals. They help gather awesome social media content, make sure nothing falls through the cracks, and step in to coordinate the team whenever the Marketing and Communication professional is not present.
- Requirements and skills needed: Experience in people and project management, proficient in photography and/or video editing, familiar with photo/video editing software, creative and proactive approach.
- Additional: Existing portfolio, available from previous work, team player, ability to operate a drone is a plus.
Israeli Corner
- Your role will include creating and leading informal educational activities about Israeli culture, food, landscape, politics, history, and people for children from various countries and age groups. You will need to be ready to answer in-depth questions about Israel and be politically correct.
- Requirements and skills needed: In-depth knowledge of Israeli history, culture, language and traditions, along with the ability to communicate effectively with campers of various backgrounds. Knowledge of informal and experiential educational methods.
- Additional: Lived in Israel in the past few years. Has up-to-date knowledge about Israel.
Madrich(a) of the International Group
- Your role will include facilitating a positive and inclusive environment for campers from different countries. You will be responsible for campers’ well-being, preparing and running informal educational activities for the group together with your co-madrich(a).
- Requirements and skills needed: Hadracha training, strong interpersonal skills, fluency in English, and experience in cross-cultural communication. Understanding group dynamics and the ability to reshape and rethink existing programs according to them. Problem-solving skills. Knowledge of Jewish terms, concepts, rituals, and important historical events.
- Additional: Experience in communication with parents.
Martial Arts
- Your role will include leading martial arts activities for children, ensuring the physical and emotional safety of participants. You will create and implement martial arts programs that cater to the needs and interests of diverse campers, focusing on, technics, basic knowledge and physical fitness.
- Requirements and skills needed: Martial arts instructor certification, experience, proficiency in various techniques, with informal education methods, and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Additional: Experience teaching martial arts in a camp or educational setting, familiarity with youth development principles, and a passion for holistic wellness.
Mental Health Professional (e.g. Social Worker, Psychologist)
- Serving as a resource to campers and staff throughout the summer in facing mental, emotional, and social health challenges, and creating environments where campers can thrive.
- Managing information about camper needs, and communicating those to staff, as well as documenting communication and plans within Szarvas Camp’s systems.
- Communicating and managing relationships with unit heads, madrichim, and parents/caregivers regarding camper needs.
- Be an active presence on-site at camp as a part of the community.
- Creating and implementing programming for small groups of campers focused on wellness and social-emotional learning.
- Requirements and skills needed: Professional experience working with children and adolescents, expertise in assessment and diagnosis, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a compassionate and empathetic approach.
Multimedia (Photographer/Videographer)
- Your role will include capturing and documenting memorable moments at camp through photography and/or videography. Creating a final collection of processed photos and/or final video (for reference, check out Facebook albums and YouTube channel) during the session.
- Requirements and skills needed: proficient in photography and/or video editing, familiar with photo/video editing software, creative and proactive approach.
- Additional: Existing portfolio, available from previous works, team player, ability to operate a drone is a plus.
Rabbi/Jewish Educator
- Your role will involve providing spiritual guidance and Jewish education for campers from diverse backgrounds. You will lead religious services, facilitate discussions on Jewish values and traditions, and organize educational programs related to Judaism. You will also advise our educational team (including unit heads and madrichimot) on a variety of religious topics.
- Requirements and skills needed: Formal training as a Jewish educator, which may include ordination, graduate learning or equivalent qualifications.
- Additional: Expertise in Jewish texts and traditions, and experience with informal/experiential education. Hebrew knowledge and fluency preferred.
Song leader
- Music is at the heart of the Szarvas Camp experience. It shows up in daily activities, camp programs, special moments, and shared rituals (such as Kabbalat Shabbat and Havdalah). Song leaders work in close coordination with the Head Song leader. The primary responsibility for this position is leading sing sessions for campers throughout the summer, which builds the community spirit through Jewish songs (modern and traditional). Additionally, song leaders work with small groups of campers on performances, lead Happy Meals, and find new ways to bring ruach to camp.
- You need to be proactive in leading these activities by showing a personal example, inspiring and energizing the campers with your music and singing (reference video 1 and video 2). Additionally, you will be responsible for leading 3–5 camp-wide singing sessions in the dining hall after the meals (reference video).
- Requirements and skills needed: Knowledge of Jewish and Israeli songs, musical expertise (singing and playing an instrument), experience in leading group activities, the ability to teach songs to children of various ages, experience performing in front of a big crowd.
- Additional: Example videos of you playing musical instruments and singing and/or teaching kids; running extra projects for teenagers.
Sports
- Your role will include creating and leading engaging sports activities for children, creating the schedule for the camp-wide tournaments and supervising them, and being responsible for the camp’s sports equipment. There are 3 main sport areas at camp (Football/soccer, basketball, volleyball), with opportunities to do other sports-related activities as well. Being a referee for different types of sport activities is also required. Conduct inventory checks and ensure that sport equipment and materials are readily available for camp activities.
- Requirements and skills needed: Background in sports, strong organizational skills, the ability to create a positive sports environment, and familiarity with the rules of various sports games. Experience in informal educational methods.
- Additional: Previous coaching experience and referee experience. Hadracha training is preferred.
Standup Paddleboard (SUP) Instructor
- Your role will involve providing stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) instruction and safety guidance for campers participating in water sports activities. You will conduct SUP lessons, supervise campers on the water, and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
- Requirements and skills needed: Hungarian SUP license, lifeguard certification, experience in water sports instruction, strong swimming skills, proficiency in water rescue techniques, and knowledge of SUP equipment and techniques.
- Additional: CPR and first aid certification, familiarity with local water regulations, and a passion for outdoor recreation and water sports.
Technician (Audio/Visual)
- Your role will include working with other team members, supporting camp and program needs in setting up and maintaining the tech equipment, and ensuring everything runs smoothly and no technical issues occur. You will collaborate with program coordinators to set up and support various camp events, ensuring all technical aspects are seamlessly integrated.
- Requirements and skills needed: Technical expertise, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, and a proactive approach. You will need to ensure the functionality and maintenance of camp equipment.
- Additional: Effectively communicate technical information to non-technical staff in a clear and understandable manner, maintain an organized inventory of all technical equipment, track usage, repairs, and replacements.
Tennis
- Your role will include leading engaging tennis activities for children from various countries and age groups. Teaching tennis fundamentals (grips, strokes, footwork, serving, and basic tactics), Adapt instruction to different skill levels, from beginners to advanced players.
- Requirements and skills needed: Tennis playing experience, familiarity with the rules and know-how of tennis, and the ability to teach and engage campers of varying skill levels. Conduct inventory checks and ensure that tennis equipment and materials are readily available for camp activities.
- Additional: A creative approach to leading tennis activities and running extra projects for teenagers.
Yoga
- Your role will involve leading yoga sessions for campers of all ages and skill levels, promoting physical and mental well-being through the practice of yoga. You will create and implement yoga programs that cater to the needs and interests of diverse campers, focusing on Judaism, relaxation, mindfulness, and physical fitness.
- Requirements and skills needed: Proficiency in various yoga styles and techniques, ability to modify poses for different abilities, familiarity with informal education methods, and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Additional: Experience teaching yoga in a camp or educational setting, familiarity with youth development principles, and a passion for holistic wellness.
